Discover
Based on the user research findings, the team identified three main pain points that the designs should solve for the MVP product.
Spending extra time analyzing meetings and finding conversation patterns post-meeting.
Information during conversations ais disorganized and easily lost.
The challenge of simultaneously focusing on conversations and taking notes.
DEsign
For the MVP product, we aimed to prioritize features based on high value and low effort, as well as high value high effort. The team reached a consensus to develop the low-value and low-effort features in the next release, while consciously avoid any low-value and high-effort features.

RETROSPECTIVE
Laxis was founded in 2020 by a group of experienced developers who had worked in tech companies of all scales around the world. Just like any other startup, there were many exciting opportunities as a product designers, however, we also encountered many constraints:
Remote handoffIn 2020, we were still figuring out how to manage remote design handoff and communication. The project marked my first experience with a fully remote environment, involving coordination across five different time zones. Adapting to different working styles with different developers was a learning curve for me.
Disorganized environmentI joined the company after it had been founded for 6 months, and everything was quite chaotic and with no standardization. We all had to learn how to create our own structure and be disciplined.
I grew as a designers with some key takeaways:
Start-up designers need to be versatile and wear many hatsWhile I had to take on some non-product designer tasks, such as build the marketing website, graphic design and video editing, I also acquired skills that would benefit me as a designer in the long run, such as front-end development, project management and marketing.
The only unchanged thing is changeStartup can be very fast-paced, with many decisions made in a short period. It is not uncommon for changes in the scope of work during research and design phases. I learned to adapt to these changes quickly. However, understanding what is non-negotiable and when to be the voice of customers is also a valuable lesson.
